Stay curious with Lee®

Lee launches newest innovative product lines for Holiday 2013 – Lee® Stretch Deluxe and Lee® Blue Label

It was a rainy afternoon and I can't imagine how I was able to catch the launch of Lee's denim campaign 'Stay Curious.' Straight from the office, I saw some familiar faces on the event and most of them are new since I'm not into fashion events and most of my events, if not food, entertainment - TV, music, movies, etc.

Anyways, the legendary and pioneering denim brand Lee® recognizes the power of curiosity, and to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of its iconic Union-Alls, and the exclusive preview of two of its newest innovative product lines for Holiday 2013 – Lee® Stretch Deluxe and Blue Label at the Lee® Concept store, in Glorietta 2, Lee® introduces five highly accomplished individuals, multi-hyphenates who best exemplify how curiosity leads to success – not just in one but in two or more fields.

Based on my personal experience, I find some jeans uncomfortable because they don't stretch easily therefore it restricts my movements and I also find them irritate my legs because of the seems being pushed against my skin. With Lee®'s promises in their newest innovative product lines, I think it's time for me to stay curious and try these newest products! Curiosity is a quality that is often associated with danger and mischief. But it is also a valuable skill that propels innovation, initiates breakthroughs and urges a person to keep on pushing and exploring, and in the process, discover new ideas, forge new paths.

Promising to deliver superior fit and comfort, Lee® Stretch Deluxe jeans has built a strong following amongst the denim loving set. The strong core offering of fits include popular styles such as Scarlett (Skinny), Skyler (high waist superslim) and Jeggings (low waist superslim), which are complimented with on-trend washes and colors. The Blue Label, Premium Quality Denim will provide you a premium quality denim. The jeans have a soft feel, and yet ensure extra durability and comfort.

Lee® Stretch Deluxe and Lee® Blue Label are available in all LEE concept stores nationwide.

Breadtalk, not your average bakery

Breadtalk is a high end fast food for baked products!

Freshly baked bread with lots of choices and with prices a bit steep from your regular bakery, this makes Breadtalk a standout. It’s hard to miss the brightly lit store, or it’s heavenly aroma of baked goods.

We visited the recently opened branch of the Breadtalk at the East Wing of Shang in Ortigas last week. According to the manager of Breadtalk, their different kinds of floss breads are the most in-demand, quite pillowy like cotton candy, very unique name for so satisfying breads. Their take on Pizza bread is my favorite. The other one is the Chicken-curry bread, good for my empty stomach at that time. They offer always fresh, baked on the spot.

Quality of the food is good enough if you are just grabbing a quick bite to eat. It's not the type you'd savor each bite with a steaming cup of coffee.

Their signature ‘see-thru’ kitchens allow pastry chefs to showcase their expertise right in front of your eyes. The staff is always courteous, prompt, and dressed in white chef hats, uniforms, and gloves. Similar to other bakeries in the country, you grab a tray and tongs and choose any baked good in the display cases.

Quality of the food is good enough if you are just grabbing a quick bite to eat. It's not the type you'd savor each bite with a steaming cup of coffee. It's high end fast food for baked products.

Starbucks Philippines introduces a cool twist of Green Tea and Dark Mocha White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino

Cool coffee journey begins today!

Starbucks Philippines is now offering new beverages, Dark Mocha White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino Blended Beverage and Green Tea White Chocolate Pudding Blended Beverage starting today in Starbucks branches nationwide.

Which one is your favorite?

It's no doubt that a lot of Filipinos love to drink coffee! More love coffee especially when paired with the classic Starbucks Frap. Starbucks always gives the right beverage depending on the mood and also gives a chance to try their latest blended beverages that is similar to my favorite

Green Tea White Chocolate Pudding Frapuccino Blended Beverage

The Green Tea White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino Blended Beverage's soft and chewy texture of the white chocolaty pudding gives a good and perfect blend of the green tea, whipped cream and the silken white chocolate pudding and also topped with whipped cream.
Tall – ₱ 180, Grande – ₱ 190 and Venti – ₱ 200

Dark Mocha White Chocolate Pudding Frappuccino Blended Beverage

The White Chocolate Pudding Dark Mocha Frap, given the dark mocha frap, adding more chocolate, albeit white, surprisingly a good combination. The white chocolate pudding is soft and complements the dark mocha in a good way. From the dark mocha base with chocolate chips to the white chocolate pudding up to the whipped cream topped chocolate powder this is the ultimate chocolate beverage that we will surely love even on our 'me' time while listening to our favorite pop and alternative music at Starbucks store.
Tall – ₱ 190, Grande – ₱ 200 and Venti – ₱ 210

If you haven't tried it yet, then this is a better timing to enjoy it twice the fun. You can even try both drinks given their promo later. Bring your friend and experience this promo later!

Me & my JunJun

I am in love with my iPad Mini. We are inseparable. My iPad is my best friend (technologically speaking).

Meet Junjun, my newest iPad Mini, the brother of my 1-year-old iPhone 5 named Nancy. They're both from Team Black. Any similarities (especially to the names) is just coincidental. Promise!

Having an iPad Mini makes life infinitely easier. This nifty gadget is so lightweight that when I got the box, I had a hard time believing there was more than a cable inside it. It's also nearly all screen, so even though it's small, it does the job of a computer-on-the-go very well.

Since I'm already an iPhone user and very comfortable with touch screen, it makes it super easy for me to upload show write-ups, take notes, email myself — and it has Siri (though not that useful here in the Philippines). What I liked most about the iPad Mini is it's handy and it fits in my small bag. Though it's indeed 'mini,' it's not fit into my suit or sport coat pocket, so you still have to carry it like you carry the full size version but it's okey. It now adds as my fashion accessory.

Writing on an iPad Mini was easier because you can hold it in your hand much like a traditional note pad. With blogging, getting information to your readers as quickly as possible is key, so having the iPad Mini handy to just whip out in a pinch has been incredibly useful. I also always have a serious fear of missing out and the gadget makes it easy to stay up-to-date with all social media to see what's going on at shows and events I wasn't able to make.

iPad Mini is more for entertainment and is easier to use when doing some work, I suggest that you go for the wifi + cellular version of the iPad 4th gen and get the Smart LTE prepaid sim. This iPad Mini will surely be much more useful with LTE-Smart powered sim. For more information, please visit http://www1.smart.com.ph/Pages/ipadmini

Why do Filipinos love minions?

“Despicable Me 2” is definitely, this is one very funny and entertaining film for the whole family!

United International Pictures and Solar Entertainment Corp. “Despicable Me 2” blasted onto Philippine screens one week ahead of the U.S. release, kickstarting 2013 with the year’s  all-time highest single day box office sales for an animation and ringing in the 2nd biggest all-time opening for an animated movie. "Despicable Me 2"'s biggest opening weekend release for an animated movie of all time with over P100M box office sales and dominated the market on over 120 screens nationwide!

Fans of those naughty little yellow Minions will rejoice as they have practically half of the movie running time dedicated to them, and there are so many more of them here. Fans of good 3D effects will really find this film so cool. I just missed some of the heart that made the first installment more than special.

Anyways, small goggle-wearing Minions, Gru's band of devoted little workers, get more screen time for their song-and-dance numbers and slapstick antics in the sequel. Feeling the Minion love, for the sequel, the filmmakers decided to make the Minions more central to the story. Now we have Minions falling in love in this new movie and there’s the fire scene in Gru’s office.

So what are the characteristics of Minions why they're loved by Filipinos?
  1. The minions are awesome and hilarious
  2. Minions speak a made-up language called 'Minionese,' sometimes sound-like Filipino (Tagalog)
  3. Minion blimp, aptly named the 'despicablimp' has partnered with Facebook to promote virtual stickers for fans to share online.
  4. The Minion mischief, which guarantees plenty of laughs
  5. Minions are talented - can sing, dance, etc.
“Despicable Me 2” is released and distributed by Universal Pictures/United Intl. Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corp. Still showing and counting!

San Miguel Beer + apple or lemon?

I learned to drink the lighter beers with flavours when I was still in highschool. Yeah, you know, highschool days are full of curiosity and experiments.

Well, in most occasions, I always pick beers more than any other liquor products especially when I'm in events wherein there's no iced tea or sodas available for order. I'm a nurse and I know that beers are still better in lowering the risk of kidney stones compared to their hard liquor loving friends because of its high water content and diuretic effect. That's my best excuse to my Mom when she caught me drinking beer on the apartment years ago. You can use it too as an excuse when you get caught by your parents. Haha! That's funny but true.

As the years go by, the level of beer leveled up, just like San Miguel which now offers flavored beers – apple and lemon. Beers were flavored for us to fully enjoy the taste of a beer without the bitter taste.

Beer + Apple

  • The taste of this is… unusual. The apple elements are there, which made me expect it to be sweet. But it’s a beer, so it’s decidedly beery. It pours out very fizzy, but the head doesn’t last long. Though it was sweeter than your standard beer, I was surprised it wasn’t more syrupy-sweet. So fresh! Smooth with a touch of sweetness.
Beer + Lemon

  • The creativity behind this beer was great, and it was a smooth, tasty golden ale. It smells as though you’re standing in the middle of a meadow filled with fruits and grasses. Flavor-wise, it may add a light (but full-tasting) sweetness and slight tangy-ness. Beer and lemon are really the most prominent flavors in this beer .
I love beers because it relaxes my body and senses, I love to drink it after a hectic or stressful day, it’s a reward for myself for a job well done or just a drink for me and my buddies to enjoy our bonding times more. Anyways, either, beer or lemon,  these two give the beer the right flavor with a couple of shakes, and it's easy to carry along.

Apple and lemon - These two are the first and best fruit-flavored beer San Miguel has ever brewed. Quirky and imaginatively unique. A fruity twist to the refreshing qualities of beer. Make sure enjoying the fruity flavors of San Miguel Flavored Beer is on that list. Available in selected bars and restaurants nationwide!
